Rounds 6 & 7 Cadwell

The sun shined down for qualifying at the awesome Cadwell Park, I was happy with the car and pleased to qualify 10th on the grid, just before the race it started to rain but we hedged our bets that it would be a quick shower and left the car with its dry tyres on, a bad move as the heavens opened and poured for the duration of the race, not to let that put me off, I quite like the rain even on baldies, I got a good start and flying first first lap getting up to 5th place when I was spun off going up the mountain, the race got messier and messier with cars going everywhere as the rain came down and I ended up getting back to 16th which would then be my starting position for Sundays race. Sunday again brought rain at the last minute and me on my baldies again, I got tangled up with David Rumbellow as I went for the outside line going into Charlies a second before he did resulting in me spinning him round the front of me and us both going flying off on to the grass, I rejoined the race but had bent the tracking so just kept going to finish 20th a bit disapointing but thats racing.

Rounds 4 & 5 Anglesey

The next rounds took us to deepest North Wales and the new Anglesey Circuit, most people had tested but budget being tight I arrived 'blind' and went straight out in qualifying which wasnt a good idea, the difficult and unfamiliar circuit and the car handling badly and a problem with the gearbox resulted in miserable qualifying right near the back of the grid. As I started to become familiar with the circuit and we altered the car for the race my lap times went down and I managed to get myself up to 17th. Unusually but luckily for me we got to qualify again for Sundays race and I did much better second time around and even started to enjoy it which I hadnt done on the Saturday finishing a much better 11th just on the back of the front pack.

Rounds 2 & 3 Snetterton 4/5th May

Finally the first race in the newly rebuilt car and the difference was very noticable, the new engine felt really good and she was handling great I was really happy to qualify 10th out of 25 cars and despite some nerves I got a good start and just managed to hang on to the the front pack, I was up to 5th at one point and had a great race finishing 8th which myself and the team were delighted with. Sundays race was equally as good and I again kept up in the front 10 and even managed to beat Adrian Hollis over the line for an 8th place finish again. Great start to the season and makes all the work and waiting worthwhile.

I have to say a massive thank you to Barry, my Dad and my Brothers who have put a huge amount of time and effort into rebuilding the car and engine for me and have done a cracking job.
